Hemmersbach Kids’ Family India
In India, we run our own Hemmersbach Kids’ Family Home, giving proper living conditions to more than 70 children from challenging backgrounds. Additionally, we operate a container school in one of the slums and provide children and families living there with drinking water and additional supplies.

Kids’ Home

At Hemmersbach Kids’ Home in Bengaluru, 70 children from challenging backgrounds find safety and peace, as well as a nurturing environment where their dignity, confidence and dreams are restored. Many arrive at our Campus after facing severe hardships – here they find holistic support in all areas of their development including education, nourishment, medical care and steady emotional guidance for a more promising future. At Kids’ Home, we protect our Kids’ rights, encourage their talents and surround them with bright, positive spaces filled with sports, arts and cultural activities.
This is where healing begins and where childhood becomes joyful again!
Inside our Kids’ Home
Our Kids’ Home is more than just a shelter for kids. It’s a Home where our kids find love, support and all the necessary tools they need to develop a stable and self-sufficient adult life.

Clean water project – 10,000 liters of water every day
In Ramamurthy Nagar Slum, clean water means hope. Many unprivileged people walk long distances for muddy water to cook, clean and bathe – risking illness every day. At Hemmersbach Kids’ Family we listened, counted every child and adult and began delivering fresh water to 1,250 people daily – and to this day, we continue to do so.
In the slums of Bangalore, safe drinking water remains a critical challenge affecting health dignity, and daily survival. With Hemmersbach Kids’ Family, we work on the ground not only with the children, but also with their families and the wider community. We provide 10,000 liters of clean, safe drinking water every single day. This reliable supply reduces the risk of waterborne diseases, frees families and especially women and children from hours spent fetching water and strengthens community resilience. Because for vulnerable families, access to clean water is not a luxury – it is a lifeline.
Ensuring that children and families have the most basic resource of all, is priceless. With consistency and compassion we help build healthier, safer and more hopeful futures.

Container school

Education changes lives. In 2019, we built a learning center from a shipping container in Ramamurthy Nagar Slum. It welcomes first generation learners from 350 households lacking water and sanitation. The space offers lessons, learning resources and hot snacks to 70 children, while also acting as a community resource center, supplying the local community with essentials.
Our container school stays open every evening between 4 and 8 pm, where children receive daily support with their homework, take part in creational activities, celebrate birthdays and find a safe place to grow.
Beyond learning support, our team fosters confidence, creativity and emotional stability – ensuring every child feels valued and supported.
Support in institutes
Behind every meal is a story of resilience. With monthly grocery support, we help children and elders in the Sri Sai Krupa Charitable Trust and ensure that some of the most vulnerable members of the community receive not only food, but dignity, comfort and stability.
For the disadvantaged children who rely on the Trust, these groceries mean far more than a meal. They offer the energy to attend school, to learn, to grow and to participate in childhood again. A full stomach becomes the foundation for better health, sharper focus and the chance to dream. Every packet of rice, every bag of vegetables, becomes a stepping stone toward a healthier future. For at risk elders, many of whom live alone or without family support, our contribution provides a sense of security during a time of life when they need it most. Access to daily meals helps maintain their strength, well being and independence.
Together, meal by meal, we help restore resilience and rebuild lives.

Local Direct Action projects – Tailoring program

From hesitant beginners to confident creators, the Kaushalya Hadi tailoring program is transforming lives. What began as a modest stitching class has grown into a powerful pathway for 15 women from underprivileged backgrounds – turning struggle into skill and skill into opportunity. Each stitch tells a story of courage hope, and the determination to build a brighter tomorrow.
Kaushalya Hadi, meaning “The Path of Skill” in Kannada, started in the Akshayanagara community space with one simple goal: to help women gain a practical, income generating skill. Most participants had never touched a sewing machine before. They arrived unsure, balancing household responsibilities, childcare and daily hardship. Yet they showed up day after day, learning through patience, practice and encouragement.
Today, these women are confidently stitching blouses, skirts, frocks and their first fully finished garments. Some have already begun taking small tailoring orders, proudly contributing to their families’ income. For many, this is their first step toward financial independence and toward being recognized in their community for their talent and perseverance.
But Kaushalya Hadi is more than a tailoring class. It is a safe space for women to rediscover their voice, rebuild their confidence and support one another. It fosters leadership, self reliance and the belief that they can shape their own futures.
