In Poland we helped more than 190 foster families and institutions, providing knowledge and material, supporting with medical and psychological care and directly involving ourselves into foster care renovations and activities.
Foster care support
Our activities in Poland focus on supporting children and youth growing up in foster care facilities and homes. More than 70,000 children in the Polish foster care system are partially or entirely deprived of natural parental care – a reality that deeply affects their emotional, social and developmental well being. Hemmersbach Kids’ Family Poland supports both parental and institutional care responding directly to the kids’ most urgent needs.
At the core of our mission is education and access to therapeutic care. We support children across all stages of development – from strengthening basic learning skills to fostering professional growth. We also focus on empowering caregivers and guardians by offering trainings and resources that enhance the quality of care provided to children.
Our therapeutic support is extensive and highly specialized. We co-finance rehabilitation, medical treatment and psychological therapy for children facing serious health challenges – we also support caregivers in efforts to improve childrens’ lives. We ensure access to EEG Biofeedback sessions and we support certified courses for therapists so this modern method can be offered safely and effectively with the necessary equipment. For children affected by trauma, we co-finance EMDR therapy, an established method of treating trauma and symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. Our youngest children receive calming, sensory rich sessions through Snoezelen multisensory therapy, supporting their overall psychophysical development.
We are equally committed to improving daily living conditions. By providing IT equipment, we help eliminate digital exclusion and enable children to participate fully in online education and maintain social connections. We also equip foster care facilities and families with essential everyday day items including furniture and household appliances among others to create safe, comfortable and inspiring spaces.

Education and Skillplanet
Access to quality education is just one of the three pillars our support is built on.
At Hemmersbach Kids’ Family, we believe in the importance of education for all and – especially for children. We’re committed to providing access to quality education for children in need, ensuring they have the tools for a brighter future that goes far beyond classrooms or digital courses.
For us, education is a pathway to independence, confidence and opportunity. That’s why our programs focus on building learning environments that nurture curiosity, critical thinking and emotional resilience. Whether it’s virtual tutoring for children or webinars and conferences for parents, social workers, psychologists, educators and caregivers, supporting them with vital knowledge and skills to improve their competences in caring for foster children, we aim to create spaces where knowledge becomes a catalyst for lasting change.
Moreover, we support children with access to knowledge as a foundation for growth. Through our educational projects, we help children and teenagers in Poland develop their potential and discover their interests. We created Skillplanet, a free e-learning platform dedicated to Poland’s foster care community – a virtual space to learn, grow and stay motivated.
Kids’ Family Centrum
The HKF Child Development Support Center in Wroclaw, PL, is a place where science, empathy and modern therapy meet. Designed as a therapeutic hub, the Centrum offers specialized support for children, adolescents and adults facing developmental disorders, emotional and learning challenges and various types of disabilities. With early diagnosis at its core, the center combines innovative tools like EEG Biofeedback, sensory integration therapy and Snoezelen therapy, to ensure every individual receive precise, evidence-based care for proper development.
But what truly defines the Centrum is its human centered approach. Our team consists of professionals and enthusiastics, where therapy is never one size fits all. Every plan is tailored, built around each person’s unique abilities, history and pace of development. Our professionally equipped therapy rooms are warm and inviting, reducing anxiety and helping children feel safe and understood. The Snoezelen Room provides a multisensory environment that supports relaxation, emotional regulation and sensory exploration.
Above all, the HKF Centrum provides what every child and family deserves: access to holistic care and a compassionate team dedicated to building healthier and brighter futures.
Summer camp
This year, the Hemmersbach Kids' Family Child Development Support Center hosted a summer Therapeutic Camp and Day Camp, creating a warm, engaging environment where learning blended naturally with fun. For children with developmental challenges – both diagnosed and in the process of diagnosis – the camp provided an opportunity to make progress in a supportive, structured setting. Through individually tailored sessions and group activities, participants learned to better manage stress, process sensory input and build self esteem.
Behind every breakthrough was our dedicated team of therapists, psychologists and educators who crafted a safe, nurturing atmosphere where trust could grow and therapeutic goals could be reached. Alongside therapy sessions, the Day Camp offered a rich program of general development activities: museum visits, outdoor games, sports, creative workshops and city explorations. These shared experiences helped children build friendships, practice social skills and enjoy summer in a meaningful way.
